My Postpartum Transformation

My Postpartum Transformation

I've been so excited to write this post and now I finally have time (with both boys in bed sound asleep). A few months ago I decided I was going to try the Mommy Trainer 15 Day Challenge and long story short, I only made it to day 8...Sad I know. But in my defense, I was only 8 weeks postpartum and in the middle of a cross country PCS. Although that's still no excuse, let's be honest I was just lazy and tired (rightfully so).

Since we got to our new duty station, I've been even more lazy. We go on walks and I try to eat pretty clean but nothing I would call transformative. I was so disappointed with myself that one day I decided it was time to make a change. I took a picture of how I looked right now and just out of curiously put it next to the picture I took when I first started the 15 day challenge. I was SHOCKED! I couldn't believe the progress I had made without even doing anything at all. I was so impressed with myself that I put it up on the 15 Day Challenge Facebook page just to inspire some mamas who were struggling. To my surprise, it got a LOT of love. I got over 400 likes and close to a hundred comments. All of these moms were asking ME for help.

Of all the people out there they wanted my help. I was floored. I didn't understand why I was so special. I was so touched by how many mamas I helped inspire. I received countless messages from people asking me about my diet and workout routine. It was surreal. But, I loved helping all of them. So, if I can help other mamas out there it's worth posting a few embarrassing photos.

The picture of me on the left is from May and the right is from August.

After all the attention my post got, I decided it was time to really change my habits. If these women looked up to me, I really needed to live by example. So starting today I'm making a lifestyle change! Eating healthier, exercising more and just overall being healthier. It's about time. I've said it before, but this time is different. I want to be healthy for myself. Every other time I've done it for someone else, but this time it's for me! I have a long way to go, but I know I can do it! I hope you enjoy following me on my journey.
