How Far Along?: 17 weeks! Getting closer and closer to that halfway mark already!
Weight Gain: So far not much. Last I checked I had gained about 5ish pounds.
Gender?: We have our anatomy scan next month!
How Big is Baby?: Baby is now as big as a pomegranate! Measuring about 5.1 inches and 5.9 ounces. Baby's rubbery cartilage is now turning to bone. Not only that, but baby is putting some meat on those bones! It helps their body do important things like regulate their temperature and metabolism. Putting on body fat now may even help baby be healthier later on, helping their brain develop correctly and possibly reducing the risk of some diseases.
Baby’s heart is pumping blood, and the placenta is working extra-hard, growing to accommodate the blood vessels needed to supply baby with nutrients and oxygen and removing their waste. Their umbilical cord is also getting longer and stronger to make sure it can meet their needs. Baby is also developing the vernix right about now!
Symptoms: Lately I've been doing better. I have back aches, and I'm tired, but mostly doing well. My gut is starting to normalize and I really attribute it to my new prenatal and probiotic.
Any Food Cravings?: Mostly hardy filling foods, but also lately sweets. I don't know if it's because it's the holidays but I love baking all the things!
Sleep: It's been hit or miss. Sometimes I have insomnia and sometimes I sleep through the night no problem.
Stretch Marks?: No new ones that I've noticed.
Maternity Clothes?: Yup! I need to buy some more basics like leggings!
Wedding Ring On or Off?: On!
What Do You Miss the Most?: Honestly, I'm pretty content right now and can't think of anything I miss a ton.
What Are You Most Excited For This Next Week?: Christmas! I love this time of year and can't wait to watch the kiddos open their presents!
Labor Signs?: Nope!
Favorite Memory From Last Week?: Making cookies with the kids!
