I kept this secret from almost everyone...it was so hard, I was busting at the seams. Which is probably why I announced at almost 10 weeks....oh well.
Wes and I have always talked about having three kiddos. When the boys turned one, we started talking about how far apart we wanted them blah blah blah and with my health issues, we assumed it would be a little while before we could try. I've always wanted my kids to be close in age (well the twins were VERY close in age haha). 2-2.5 years apart seemed like the perfect number to me.
I went to multiple doctors, ran multiple tests and finally in late April/early May we got the green light from the perinatologist. I never thought I would be "that girl" who gets pregnant the first cycle. Well...
God laughed and it happened in a blink of an eye. I found out REALLY early too. My last period was the last week of April and by the end of the first week of May I just had this weird feeling. Sure enough on May 17th I decided to take a test just for the hell of it. I was a week out from my missed period, so I just expected it to be negative...
At first that's exactly what it looked like it was, then it sat for three minutes. And there it was...the tiniest most faint line you've ever seen in your life. But sure enough it was there. THREE WEEKS PREGNANT! That's how early on I was. I fell to the bathroom floor and started hyperventilating! This is what we wanted right?! Why am I freaking out!? But it was a good kind of freak out. I called one of my best friends and immediately told her.
For about 4 weeks after I found out, I continued to test like a crazy person because I just couldn't believe I was actually pregnant. Don't judge...
Since this is supposed to be our last baby I wanted to surprised Wes in a fun way. I went to bed that night laying next to him grinning knowing a secret he didn't. I couldn't wait to tell him.
The next day my friend Sam and I ran around town getting all the supplies I needed. She helped set everything up and by the time he got home I was shaking like a leaf from excitement. At first when he walked through the door, he just stood there and didn't say anything.
He didn't realize what our shirts said and it took him a minute to see everything else. But then it hit him, and he just laughed and smiled and said to me "I knew it!" He was in shock for a few days, but after about a week it wore off and he was in full on excitement mode!
Well here it goes...welcome aboard our crazy train!
